After moving back to Dexter, I found Peace Lutheran church and joined there. I sang on the Praise Team and rang hand bells and enjoyed wonderful friendship and spiritual growth. Since moving to Colorado, I've joined Redeemer Lutheran Church. I'd always attended there when visiting and knew if/when I moved that is where I wanted to go. The mission of Redeemer is Connecting People to Jesus and the Holy Spirit is alive and very evident in this church as we continue to support one another and connect people to Jesus. I sang for many years on Praise Team - and later joined Redeemer's choir, I attend New Life (previously Life Light) Bible Study, Redeemed and Retired group, and other activities. Unfortunately Redeemer doesn't have a handbell choir and I really missed that, so for several years I played handbells with other church groups. God is good! All the time!

I also discovered and renewed for several years, an old love - square dancing - Friendship set to Music. I was a member of the Fort Collins Square Dusters club and the Berthoud Barn Owls Plus club. I joined the Hash Tag Stars and did two demos for the 2017 Colorado State Square Dance Festival. See Links page for a video of our demo.

Many years ago, I started sponsoring a child from India through Compassion International. Over the years my Compassion family grew to ten children - in the meantime several have graduated from the program and a couple have left the program and as of 2021 I had only 6 from several different countries. I mostly sponsor girls because I think they’ve had a pretty rough time in many countries. They have given me much joy and I feel grateful that I can share of my bounty with them. They have so little and we in this country have so much.

In 2014 my brother in Arizona got remarried and was unable to continue to be a caregiver for our mother. So at the age of 97, she moved to Colorado so I could be her caregiver. She lived first with me and then at different Skilled Nursing Facitilites. I discovered the physical and emotional toll that being a caregiver takes, but I wouldn't have given up the time we had together. Her body gradually declined although her mind was as sharp as ever. She joyfully looked forward to her life in heaven and on February 19, 2016 surrounded by her Fort Collins family and Redeemer vicar peacefully went to live with Jesus. These two years were difficult for me, but I was sustained by Jesus, my wonderful LifeLight table friends, and my family.

As I continue toward the future, I don’t know where my path will lead, but I can truthfully say I don’t know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future and feel assured that since God has taken care of me so very well, He will continue to take care of me. Jesus has been with me every step of the way and my trust in Him grows daily. Since God is directing my steps, why do I need to know what happens along the way. Proverbs 20:24 Living Bible

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11: 29-30 NIV

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18 NIV

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NIV

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 NIV

And my favorite quote from C.S. Lewis is "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."
